Walk It Through: To Explore A Challenge, Decision Or Idea.
About this Event
Walk It Through: A Guided Group Walk for Conversation, Reflection and New Perspectives
Do you have an idea, decision, project or possible change you'd like to explore? Perhaps you're considering a career move, developing a business idea, starting a creative project, or simply reflecting on a question that's been on your mind.
Walk It Through is a small-group outdoor experience that combines walking, reflection, conversation and listening to help you gain fresh perspectives and greater clarity on something that matters to you.
Research suggests that walking can support creative thinking, while spending time in natural environments has been linked to benefits including improved cognitive functioning and wellbeing. The experience brings together these elements with coaching-led reflection, meaningful dialogue and time to think.
Who is it for?
Walk It Through is designed for people who value thoughtful conversation and learning from different perspectives, and who would benefit from dedicated space to think, talk and listen. You might be:
- Considering a career change or development opportunity
- Exploring a business, freelance or creative idea
- Working through a challenge or decision on something important to you.
If you enjoy spending time in nature and are open to both sharing your own experiences and listening to others without judgement, you'll probably feel at home here.
What to expect
During this 2-hour guided walk, you'll:
🌿 Take part in structured paired conversations guided by coaching prompts
🌿 Give and receive the gift of deep listening, creating space for new ideas and insights to emerge
🌿 Engage with the natural environment through observation, metaphor and reflection
🌿 Spend time in quiet reflection and journalling (bring a notebook & pen)
🌿 Notice what your body, emotions and senses might be telling you, alongside your analytical thinking
🌿 Leave with a clearer sense of what's important and a next step that feels right for you.
This pilot event is limited to max 12 participants and is offered free of charge in exchange for completing a short feedback survey afterwards, to help me refine and develop future Walk It Through experiences.
Why a diverse group?
Like healthy ecosystems, which thrive through biodiversity, Walk It Through brings together people from different professions, backgrounds and life experiences. The aim is to benefit from encountering different perspectives and ways of seeing the world. Often, new insights emerge when we step outside our usual circles and assumptions.
A supportive space
While you may leave with new connections and a greater sense of possibility, Walk It Through is not a networking event as such, or a group therapy session. Rather, it's a facilitated opportunity for thinking, talking and listening without judgement.
Practical Information
We'll be walking at a gentle pace on a mixture of footpaths. Some sections may be uneven underfoot. Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing for the weather conditions. Bring water and anything else you need to feel comfortable during the walk.
Weather: In the event of severe weather or a Met Office weather warning, I may cancel or postpone the event. Safety will always come first.
Getting there: I encourage you to walk, cycle or use public transport if possible. If you're driving, parking is available at Ashton Court.
About the facilitator - Dr Miriam Ricci

I've been using the Walk It Through approach in my one-to-one coaching work to support people navigating career transitions, business decisions and other significant changes. This pilot event is an opportunity to explore how the same principles of walking, coaching conversations and reflection and can work in a small-group setting, enriched by the perspectives and experiences of others.
