Walk for Children - 2026 Save Soil Walkathon in Cambridge

Over 52% of the world’s farmable soil is degraded, contributing to nutritional imbalances for 2 billion people. The next decade is critical to reversing this crisis—together we can bring awareness about soil health and secure the future of our children and our planet.

Save Soil is a global people’s movement launched by Conscious Planet, founded by Sadhguru, to address an existential crisis – the rapid degradation of agricultural soils. Over the last three decades, Save Soil has implemented a holistic strategy for soil revitalization through scalable farmer-driven projects, policy advocacy, and citizen awareness campaigns.

The movement is working with governments across the globe to shape soil policies, and is supporting over 250,000 farmers in India to transition to various other regenerative agricultural practices, including agroforestry. In 2022, Sadhguru rode a motorcycle 30,000km across the globe in 100 days to raise mass awareness of the soil crisis. Through digital, mass media, and community engagements, the Save Soil movement’s awareness campaigns have reached over 4.1 billion people globally, creating a groundswell of support for soil-friendly policies and practices. We aim to bring back at least 3-6% organic matter in the soil, based on regional conditions, by bringing the land under shade from vegetation & enriching the soil through plant litter and animal waste.

Save Soil is backed by the UN Environment Program, UN Food and Agriculture Organisation, UN Convention to Combat Desertification, World Food Program, and IUCN, amongst others.

He is the only living Indian to have received three Presidential Awards from three different Presidents, among which are India’s highest annual civilian award, the Padma Vibhushan, and India’s highest environmental award, the Indira Gandhi Paryavaran Puraskar.

As part of the Conscious Planet initiative, he has also launched the world’s largest people’s movement – Save Soil, which has so far reached over 4.1 billion people and was greatly instrumental in bringing soil, agriculture, and food systems to the forefront.

• For each child accompanying you, the parent or guardian must sign and agree to the consent here . Please bring the soft copy or print copy of the confirmation email upon submission of the Parental Authorization Consent form.
• Feel free to wear a Save Soil T-shirt or a green or white T-shirt to the walkathon.
• ⁠Please bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.
• Dress according to the weather. The weather can be unpredictable at times, and it could get chilly in the evenings with the winds along the river. Carry hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, jacket, umbrella, etc., as needed.
• Please pack light and carry your belongings along with you during the walk; there will be no accommodations to store or oversee your belongings.
