Walk & Rest in Nature - Global Majority + Friends
About this Event
🌿 Walk & Rest: Clayton Vale
Meeting Point: Clayton Vale Visitor Centre Car Park- Berry Brow entrance off Edge Lane/ Clayton Hall Rd.
Join us for a gentle walk and rest session through the varied landscapes of Clayton Vale Nature Park.
Tucked between neighbourhoods in East Manchester, Clayton Vale is a surprising pocket of nature, home to woodland, meadows, wildflowers, riverside paths and a wide variety of birds and wildlife.
This session offers an opportunity to slow down, step away from the pace of everyday life, and spend some time outdoors in a supportive and welcoming group.
We’ll walk at an easy pace, taking time to pause, notice our surroundings and enjoy moments of quiet connection with nature.
Part way through the session, we’ll find a peaceful spot to settle for a guided rest period. You’re invited to get comfortable, switch off for a while and simply rest. We’ll also share some herbal tea together before continuing our walk.
🥾 The Walk
The route follows a circular trail through Clayton Vale, taking in woodland paths, open meadows and riverside sections.
Distance: Approx. 3.5km
Session Length: Approx. 2 hours (including pauses, rest session and tea)
Terrain: Predominantly wide gravel paths with some uneven ground, gentle inclines and occasional tree roots.
Accessibility: Some uneven surfaces and small inclines. Unfortunately this route is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs throughout.
Pace: Slow and relaxed, with regular stops.
⭐ Walk Grading: Easy–Moderate
This is not a fitness-focused walk and no hiking experience is required.
Whilst the route includes a few gentle inclines and uneven sections, it is designed to be accessible for most people with a reasonable level of mobility and a desire to spend time in nature.
