Walk and Talk

The Belong Club invites anyone to come and participate in the Belong Club Walking Group!

Every week we walk along the pathway beside the Narrabeen Lagoon, from the Tramshed Arts and Community Centre to Jamieson Park and back. The route is about 1.8km each way, and is estimated to take 45 minutes.

The up and back walk allows for people of any walking speed to participate and enjoy the walk at their own comfortable pace - just turn back to the Tramshed at 10am! Walkers often split into smaller groups naturally along the route allowing everyone to go at their preferred pace.

The aim here is for everyone to be included and to have an enjoyable walk.

When: Tuesdays 9.30am -10.30am (A little longer if people decide to grab coffee nearby after the walk)

Where: Meet outside the front door (glass double door) of the Tramshed Arts and Community Centre, 1395A Pittwater Rd, Narrabeen NSW 2101.

Cost: Free

Weather, safety and responsibility

It is important that you make your own decisions regarding your comfort and safety. This is particularly relevant to weather and walk suitability. The decision to undertake the event is at your discretion and by registering for the event you deem yourself fit and capable of safely participating in the event.

For example, some might be comfortable walking in light rain with a rain jacket, others may be less comfortable due to the lower visibility or increased slipping hazard. In poor weather days there may only be one or two people who show up to complete that week’s walk. The decision to do the walk is left to personal choice.

However, if we meet up and decide that the walk will be no fun, the backup plan is to go for a coffee at a local cafe!

Covid

Due to rising covid cases we request that all participants follow social distancing guidelines. Please look after each other and do not attend if you are experiencing any covid symptoms or are considered a close contact to a covid case.

If you are uncomfortable meeting with others face to face right now, we encourage you to try some of the Belong Club's online events, such as Monday's Mindful Movement session or Thursday's Gentle Exercise Class.

Parking

There is a carpark next to the Tramshed Arts and Community Centre with suitable free parking. Many bus routes , including the B1, run down Pittwatter Road and stop at Narrabeen in a convenient location for the Tramshed.

The Belong Club is a Northern Beaches Community Care initiative designed to build community connections. We use local presenters to run online and in-person events that everyone is welcome to join.

Through activities, conversations and knowledge sharing, Belong Club brings together anyone looking to try something new, re-explore old passions, socialise and build more community connections.

The online component of the Belong Club offers increased accessibility to new and ongoing connections as part of a supportive online community, to sustain health and wellbeing.
