Take a step in support of survivors and help show that our community stands together against domestic violence.
The Muskingum County Domestic Violence Coalition invites individuals, families, businesses, schools, first responders, community organizations, and local leaders to join us for Walk a Mile in My Shoes 2026.

Walk a Mile in My Shoes is an opportunity to walk in solidarity for victims and survivors, raise awareness about domestic violence, remember lives lost, and demonstrate our community’s commitment to safety, support, and hope.
WHAT TO EXPECT
👟 A community walk in solidarity with victims and survivors
🎤 A guest speaker sharing the story of her child, whose life was taken through domestic violence
⭐ Local celebrity and community leader walkers
👕 The Clothesline Project
🎟️ Raffle prizes
💵 A 50/50 drawing
💜 Opportunities to learn, connect, and show your support
REGISTRATION
Registration is $10 per walker.
Pre-registration is strongly encouraged, but registration will also be available at the event.

WHY WE WALK
Domestic violence affects individuals and families throughout our community. By walking together, we can raise awareness, honor victims, support survivors, and help ensure that no one has to face domestic violence alone.
Funds raised through the event will benefit Transitions, Inc.’s court advocacy program. Court advocates help survivors understand the legal process, access available protections, navigate court proceedings, connect with resources, and feel supported during an often overwhelming time. All free of charge.
Transitions, Inc. serves survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking throughout Muskingum, Morgan, and Perry counties.
Walk a Mile in My Shoes is hosted by the Muskingum County Domestic Violence Coalition.
BRING YOUR COMMUNITY
Invite your family, friends, coworkers, classmates, organization, or community group to walk with you. Businesses and organizations are also encouraged to form teams and show their support for survivors.
