Wakespeare: The Acts of Portobello

As part of the Wakespeare project run by Empath Theatre we are inviting residents from Portobello and surrounding areas to join us in developing scenes for a new play.

Inspired by Shakespeare but with a definite Wakefield twist scenes could see Hamlet set in the supermarket or Romeo & Juliet meeting in secret in Castle Grove Park.

The workshops will give the opportunity for you to get involved in the project in whatever role you would like from acting to directing, from writing to lighting there are many choices.

Come along to this session on the 4th November and find out more and then join for later sessions to develop your ideas and work if you would like to. There will be the chance to perform your final pieces (live or recorded) but you can decide if you want to do this as the project progresses.
