Wake Forest Community Garden Fair

Looking to grow your own food, save money on groceries, or learn more about sustainable living? Join us for the Wake Forest Community Garden Fair on Saturday, February 28, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1524 Jenkins Road, Wake Forest, NC.

This free, family-friendly event is designed for everyone — from beginners who have never planted a seed to experienced gardeners ready to take things to the next level.

When you arrive, you’ll step into a hands-on gardening fair filled with local experts, demonstrations, and free take-home resources. Attendees can expect to leave with:

• A bag of free vegetable and herb seeds
• A planting guide to help you get started
• A free tomato seedling (for containers or in-ground gardens)
• Fruit cuttings such as fig, blueberry, and muscadine grape (while supplies last)

Choose 20 varieties of seeds from over 70 vegetable and herb types, including heirloom and open-pollinated tomatoes. Seeds = food!

Gardening Classes (offered twice so you can attend both):
🕥 Session 1: 10:30–11:30 AM
🕛 Session 2: 12:00–1:00 PM

• Vegetable Gardening – Wake County Master Gardener
• Herb Gardening – Wake County Master Gardener

Medicinal Herb Demonstration:
Learn how to make Calendula ointment and Elderberry syrup during a live, hands-on demonstration.

Talk one-on-one with knowledgeable presenters about:

• Soil health & composting
• Container & square-foot gardening
• Organic pest control
• Beekeeping
• Backyard chickens & meat rabbits
• Canning and preserving the harvest
• Gardening to support food-insecure neighbors

Bring seeds or plants to trade with other gardeners and discover something new for your garden.
