We are now accepting folks for the WAITLIST. Please fill out the form and we will get in touch if a spot opens up. We are thrilled to have special guest teacher ALICIA GRAYSON visiting from the Boulder, CO for a 3-day workshop this spring! This is a unique opportunity to work with Alicia as she teaches workshops around the world and has been a practitioner of Contact Improvisation for 35 years.
This workshop is for those who are practicing CI regularly and already have a basic understanding of the form (at least 3 months of cumulative practice in CI specific workshops, classes and jams).
FLUID ARCHITECTURE
During three full days together, Alicia will expertly guide us into dynamic yet easeful, whole body awareness as we dance in solos, duets, trios and more.
We begin with exploring our solo dance and how we can fluidly move our skeletal architecture in three dimensional space. From there we move into contact with a focus on the moment to moment organizing of our skeleton in relationship with our partners.'
From this foundation we will explore effortless transitions in and out of the floor as well as dynamic support for flying. We will include playing with modulating tone and tempo to enhance more flow in communication and nuanced expression. This focus supports dancing with ease and clarity from which creative communication will naturally emerge.
