HARKAT STUDIOS is very please to announce a 2-day fringe (Mumbai Edition) as an extended part of the Jairangam festival in Jaipur.Waiting for Naseer is a philosophical comedy wherein two actors wait at the Prithvi Theatre cafe to catch a show of their favourite actor, Naseeruddin Shah's new play. But the situation is weirder than it sounds, because only one of them is entitled to a ticket, and because theyare both dead! While they wait, they laugh, they cry, they compete bitterly, and reveal themselves in a desperate bid to get that elusive one ticket to the show. An actor knows how to wait like no one else does - all he desires are his moments on stage. In those moments he finds the ability to smile at his ephemeral existence. The play is a celebration of theatre, acting, passion, and of life itself … only it is being celebrated by two dead men.About the directors:Srinivas is a Theatre professional practicing Acting, Direction and writing for close to 20 years now. In lieu of telling his stories with influence of folk forms, Srinivas started a Theatre troupe 9 years ago called Kahe Vidushak Foundation. A Bangalore based Theatre group, his productions explore across genres, subjects with an element of folk theatre in all the plays.Vidushak is an elusive character fighting oppression by the powerful. With 15 productions being produced in the last 8 years, over 300 shows performed across India, Kahe Vidushak also received 50+ National Awards including META Nomination, Serendipity Arts Festival, Rangashankara Theatre Festival and Jairangam to name a few.Perfomers:Maahir Mohiuddin, Maulik Pandey, Naman RoyMaahir Mohiuddin: An Actor by Passion and profession, but somehow ends up involved in everything on the set and the stage. Lives and works for the theatre; started his journey with Saarthak Productions and has done a number of plays since, all over Bangalore and once in Prithvi theatre Bombay . Worked for many groups like Aamhi Theatre, PlayPen, Quiver etc. Lately he has been the Assistant Director for Kathputliyaan Theatre group, the first play being Girish Karnad Sir's magnum opus in Hindi, Tipu Sultan Ke khwaab' adapted and Directed By Zafer Mohiuddin, then 'Shaadi ki Kirkiree', and the popular "Jiss Ne Lahore Nahi Dekhya" where he plays the iconic role of Nasir Kazmi the Poet. Other than Theatre,he's a common sight in a number of Ads and Short films which have been screened internationally across various film festivals and also is working his way towards Feature Films. He holds dear his eyes, voice and the love for his Language that is Hindustani, Urdu and Dakhni.Maulik Pandey: An actor with rich experience from Mumbai Theatre, Anupam Kher theatre group and Diploma from FTIINaman: Naman is an actor known for his versatility in the Delhi Theatre Circuit and is practicing theatre professionally for the last 5 years. Hes marked a niche for the characters he has played on stage and has been experimenting concepts with camera and his directorial view. He has performed accross India including places like Prithvi Theatre, Sri Ram Centre, Ranga shankara, Gaiety Theatre, Tagore Auditorium and many more.
