Michael Aitkens’ acclaimed play brings Waiting for God from BBC television to the stage. Set in Bayview Retirement Village, retired photojournalist Diana Trent and new resident, widowed accountant Tom Ballard, join forces to disrupt the schemes of the conniving manager Harvey Baines and his dithering assistant Jane Edwards. Their antics spark comedic confrontations and heartfelt moments among an ensemble cast that includes Diana’s ambitious niece Sarah, Tom’s unremarkable son Geoffrey, a confused vicar, numerous doctors and an unwelcome undertaker - all contributing to a humorous and uplifting tale of growing old badly.
