Waitangi Day 2027 at Wai Ariki Hot Springs and Spa (Free event)

Join us on Saturday 6 February 2027 as we come together to commemorate Waitangi Day and acknowledge the enduring significance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi (The Treaty of Waitangi), first signed at Waitangi in 1840.
For three consecutive years, Wai Ariki Hot Springs and Spa has hosted this free community event, welcoming whānau (family), manuhiri (visitors) and the wider Rotorua community in a spirit of manaakitanga (hospitality and care), reflection and connection.
Set within Rotorua’s geothermal taiao (natural environment), the day creates space for people of all ages to gather, learn and celebrate. Together, we will recognise our shared history, honour diverse perspectives and reflect on the continuing importance of Te Tiriti today
Guests can look forward to a day shaped by aroha (compassion), Māori culture, community spirit and the unique identity of Rotorua. Further information, including event timings, activities and programme details, will be shared as they are confirmed.
