Join us for a creative and intentional workshop where you will design and create your own waist beads—an adornment rooted in centuries-old traditions originating in West Africa.
Waist beads have long been worn as symbols of femininity, personal expression, and connection to the body. In many cultures, they represent rites of passage, self-awareness, and spiritual grounding.
In this workshop, we will honor the cultural origins of waist beads while creating space for personal meaning and self-expression. You’ll be guided through a gentle intention-setting process and invited to choose colors and materials that reflect your own energy, creativity, and inner connection.
No prior experience is needed—this is a relaxed, welcoming space to create, reflect, and connect.

With a background in teaching art within schools and nonprofit programs, as well as teaching painting classes to adults and kids for over 10 years, Tracy blends creativity with intention, offering experiences that are both accessible and meaningful. Her work centers around creating welcoming spaces where people can explore creativity without pressure, reconnect with themselves, and experience the joy of making.
