Breakdancers, hip-hop enthusiasts, and dance fans are invited to Wailuku First Friday for Uptown Getdown 12 on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the heart of Wailuku Town.
Market Street will transform into a high-energy dance arena as Maui's top b-boys and breakers battle it out during the 12th Uptown Getdown 1v1 Breakdancing Competition. The evening also features local shopping, delicious food, and entertainment throughout Market Street, the Wailuku Garage, and participating town merchants.
Keeping the energy alive throughout the night, DJ Joralien and DJ Dhey will provide the soundtrack while B-Boy Karma serves as host and emcee.
Competitors will go head-to-head in an exciting winner-takes-all tournament, judged by legendary breakers Tony Top Rock (Rock Skittles Crew) and Ronnie (Full Force Crew, Super Crew).
Judging will be based on five key categories:
Style & Creativity
Cleanliness
Musicality
Dynamics
Composition

Enjoy the sounds of DJ Z spinning favorite hits while exploring local vendors at the Wailuku Garage. Support local by shopping, eating, and celebrating Maui’s small businesses and artisans.
Parking & Road Closures
Free parking available after 6:00 p.m. at the Wailuku Municipal Parking Garage
(Access via Church Street between Vineyard and Main Streets)
Market Street will close to vehicle traffic at 5:30 p.m.
Vehicles remaining on Market Street after closure will be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense
