WADW PRESENTS: BRITAIN’S FORGOTTEN GIRLS
Young girls across Britain are being groomed, trafficked and sexually exploited by organised drug gangs. Police, councils and social services have been warned repeatedly, yet the same failures continue. Through the testimony of survivors, whistleblowers and those who raised the alarm, this film investigates why this exploitation has been allowed to continue for over two decades.
Join us in person for a screening and Q&A of Britain’s Forgotten Girls (BBC Current Affairs) moderated by Oliade Sadiq.
We will be joined by Alessia Camoirano, who will discuss how she developed and brought the film to BBC Current Affairs alongside co-director Jamie Tahsin, as well as editor Marta Velasquez.
There will be drinks and mingling on the boat deck after the discussion.
