Wadena Christmas Festival

Once upon a time in Wadena ... a Christmas tradition began.
For 50 years, families, friends, neighbors and visitors have gathered to shop, celebrate and make memories. This November, we’re opening the book to a brand-new chapter ... and you’re invited to be part of the story!
Save the date for Wadena’s Christmas Story: Chapter 50!
November 27–28, 2026
Wadena-Deer Creek Elementary School
This year, our story begins with a Friday evening VIP Sneak Peek, followed by a full Saturday of Christmas Festival fun ... vendor shopping, community entertainment, traditional favorites and a few surprises we’re excited to share.
For the kiddos, there’s a Christmas coloring contest, our own Wadena Christmas coloring book and a visit with Santa! They can even write a letter to Santa right at the festival ... then hand it to him personally or mail it to the North Pole.
And grown-ups, get your Christmas letters and cards ready early! We’re planning a special festival post office with a commemorative Christmas postmark, pending final USPS approval. Bring your holiday mail to the festival and send a little piece of Wadena’s story to friends and family near and far.
The pages are still coming together, and there’s more to tell. Follow along as we reveal the details ... one chapter at a time.
Bring your family, invite a friend and help us write the next chapter of a hometown Christmas.
