DESCRIPTION: Join Waco Walks April 12 for a tour of Oakwood Cemetery, focusing on "Women of Oakwood: The Backbone of Waco." Established in 1878, Oakwood Cemetery serves as a burial place for over 36,000 on its beautiful 160-acre, tree-lined site. Clint Lynch, General Manager of Oakwood Cemetery, will lead our tour with an emphasis on the women of Waco who helped shape our city. We will step off April 12 at 9:00 AM at Oakwood Cemetery, 2124 S 5th St, Waco, Texas 76706. Come explore!DATE: April 12

LOCATION: Oakwood Cemetery, 2124 S 5th St, Waco, Texas 76706
PARKING: Parking will be available in the lot at the cemetery office (2124 South 5th St.), as well as along 5th Street and Oakwood Street.
WALK LENGTH: 1.5 to 2 miles

ACCESSIBILITY: Oak Cemetery contains a flat surface, covered in grass but with tree roots. A wheelchair or scooter with all-terrain tires would probably be OK.
HYDRATION: Please bring your own water.
DOGS: Dogs welcome, but they MUST be on a leash, and you MUST scoop the poop!
WEATHER/CANCELLATION PLAN: We plan to walk rain or shine, so if it looks like rain, bring an umbrella.
