Description:
The VTCT Level 3 Certificate in Access to Aesthetic Therapies is an access course to further advanced therapy qualifications. This qualification is aimed at learners wishing to progress onto advanced level 4 aesthetic programs but who presently do not hold recognised level 2 and 3 beauty therapy qualifications.
This qualification is based on the National Occupational Standards (NOS) for relevant principles of beauty therapy and includes all the required elements to achieve a measurable and comparable qualification, which will facilitate further and additional study at levels 4 and above. Learners must achieve all mandatory units which include:
- Health and safety
- Facial therapy
- Consultation and client care
- Anatomy, physiology and pathology
-Electrical Science
Throughout this qualification, learners will develop their knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology and health and safety pertaining to level 2 and 3 therapies. They will also develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to consult with clients and analyse their skin to help facilitate the provision of facial therapies. In parallel, learners will develop their communication and customer service skills, all of which are valued highly by employers.
This qualification offers the most direct route for learners lacking the traditional beauty pre-requisites to progress directly to level 4 therapies and above.
Course format:
Blended learning - 5 practical (classroom) training / assessment days + online learning modules + case studies + monthly video lessons (dates tbc)
Coursework: Home study and portfolio of evidence containing questions and assignment work
Written Exam: Yes you will sit an exam at the end of your course

UBT285 - Skin analysis and facial skincare
UBT286 - Consultation and client care
UBT287 - Anatomy, physiology & pathology
UBT288 - Electrical science
UBT289 - Monitor health and safety in the salon
Start time:
The home study can be started at anytime. Training material available on our online portal. You will be able to log into your account to access the theory.
Attendance:
5 days + theory studied online & via live video (live video lesson dates tbc)
Duration:
Self-paced home study can be started at anytime and covers GLH (Guided Learning Hours): 200. (GLH incl’s. practical, coursework, case studies, assessments, written exams)

Model Required?:
Group training = No, students will work on each other.
One to one training = Yes, you will be required to bring a model along to the practical
training to practice your routine on.
Case studies = Yes, you will be required to work on models for your case studies.
Case studies:

Career Opportunities:
Facial / Skin specialist - employed or self-employed, working in a salon or spa environment, as well as home / mobile therapist.

Additional Costs:
You will need to purchase your own products and equipment in order to carry out your case studies and practice your skills (i.e., treatment couch, facial kit).
