About this Event
Join the free book club organized by VOX Delft and Studium Generale!
This quarter we’ll be reading Invisible Cities, a 1972 postmodern novel by Italian author Italo Calvino. It reads as a conversation between Kublai Khan and Marco Polo, discussing matters of life, society, and culture while describing various fantastical cities.
Let’s explore the work and its context together.
We’ll be meeting twice:
- Wednesday, February 11th, 12:45pm: Introduction and book distribution in the Nook (TUD Library)
- TBA, 7:00pm: book discussion in the Nook (TUD Library)
Please register for the VOX Book Club so we know how many people to expect.
We’ll have a dozen free copies of the book to give away to the lucky few! For the rest of us there are eBooks and hard copies available at (online) retailers.
(painting by Tranquillo Cremona, Marco Polo alla Corte del Gran Khan. 1863. It is in itself a 'fantastical' imagining of an East Asian royal court)
