Join the WYCO Theatre Company for its inaugural event, a staged reading of “Vote Brothers for Christmas”, an original play by Kansas City, Kansas playwright Gary Bradley-Lopez. Taking place at Flagship Books in the heart of historic Strawberry Hill, this special evening begins at 7:00 p.m. at 510 N. 6th Street, Kansas City, KS 66101.
Set in 1970s Quindaro during the Christmas season, Vote Brothers for Christmas follows two brothers separated by a 20-year age gap as an unexpected visit brings old memories, family tensions, and difficult conversations to the surface. Through humor, conflict, and honest reflection, the brothers are forced to confront their past and what it means to be family. The staged reading will be directed by Aalayah Norwood.
This is the first public event of the WYCO Theatre Company, and we want the community to be part of the beginning. *
Admission is Pay What You Can—whether you can contribute $5, $10, $15, $20, or simply come and support local theatre, we want you in the room. Come experience a new play, support local artists, and help us begin building a theatre company for the Dotte. AND BUY A BOOK ON SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY!
