This Christmas, a group of us are coming together to make sure no care‑experienced young person spends Christmas Day alone. The East Kent Care Leavers Christmas Lunch, supported by Gold from the Stone Foundation and Union Church, Margate will bring young people together for a joyful celebration of community, warmth, and belonging.
Across the UK, an estimated 80,000–100,000 care‑experienced young adults aged 18–25 are navigating life after care. Each year, around 11,000–13,000 young people leave the care system, often facing what’s known as the “care cliff” — a sudden drop in support when they turn 18.
Join our volunteer team in the run‑up to Christmas or on the day itself. We’re hosting an open session to find out more on 28th of October, 7pm at Union Church, Margate.
