About this Event
CyanLines and Canal & River Trust city centre towpath clean up
CyanLines is on a mission to transform Manchester's green and blue spaces for everyone to enjoy and let nature flourish. We've teamed up with the wonderful people at Canal & River Trust (CRT) to host canal towpath clean up sessions and we need volunteers to join our next one.
We’ll work in groups along the canal banks and experienced CRT volunteer leaders will guide us. You'll get to learn about our canals' heritage and the wildlife who call it home. It's a great chance to meet people and spend a day in the fresh air.
As volunteer Lisa said after taking part in our first session last November:
“There’s something very satisfying about seeing a space clear and tidy and knowing you are doing a little bit to support nature and wildlife along the canal. I found the slow wander pretty therapeutic; chatting with my fellow volunteers, watching canal boats move through the locks, saying hello to absolutely everyone who passed us (including all the dogs!) made it a lovely and social day."
Why not bring your friends and help CyanLines and CRT help nature thrive across our city! Places are limited so please register by 10th February.
When: 10am – 3pm on Saturday 28 February
Where: Meet at Piccadilly Basin (at the intersection of Dale St and Ancoats St)
