About this Event
Join Grassroots Ecology for a volunteer day at Stulsaft Park! Volunteers should expect to support restoring this California ecosystem by installing and watering native plant species.
Accessibility considerations include hiking on uneven and steep terrain, being outside for the entire length of the event, and kneeling, squatting, and standing to plant native plants. Volunteers will be supplied with gloves, kneelers, and all tools needed during the event.
Visit Grassroots Ecology’s Stulsaft Park page to learn more about the ecosystem and accessibility considerations.
Waivers/Registration: All attendees must be registered individually and have approved the online waiver through this Eventbrite page. Youth under 18 must have their legal guardian approve the waiver on their behalf.
Transportation for Stulsaft Park: The lower entrance to Stulsaft Park is mainly accessible via car and bike, but the 278 samTrans bus goes to the Farm Hill entrance of Stulsaft Park. If taking the bus, get off at Farm Hill & Glennan Dr. stop and then walk through the park to get to the lower entrance meeting space.
If driving and parking please give yourself ten minutes to park and walk to the meeting spot. There is street parking for cars near Goodwin Ave. and Mitchell Way (there is no parking on Recreation Way).
Meeting Space: Meet by the native plant and animal mural/storage unit at the lower entrance to Stulsaft Park. Multiple drinking fountains are available, and there are multi-user gendered restrooms eight minutes from the meeting spot, and single-user gendered bathrooms by the Farm Hill Entrance/playground which is an eight-minute walk from our work area. The work area is less than a ten-minute walk from the meeting spot.
There is cell service within some areas of the park.
