VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO PLACE FLAGS AT FORT SMITH NATIONAL CEMETERY - May 24, 2026See details below shared by Richard McKinney. This is something everyone across our region can participate in.
Please help us get the word out about our workdays at the Fort Smith National Cemetery. We are rapidly approaching our annual ceremony on the 24th (at 2 pm) and we need hundreds of volunteers to get the flags placed (21st at 10am) and later removed (26th at 10am). It's the prefect time to get your civic, church group or family involved in one of the move reverent ceremonies that we observe to honor that <1% of our population, now deceased, that stood before our Flag, raised their hand and swore an oath to protect and serve this great country. Farmer's Bank will provide lunch on the 21st and Arrest Bank will supply the food for us on the 26th. We also encourage you to join us after church services on the 24th as we memorialize these veterans. Lt Col Chase Thornton, United States Space Force, will be our keynote speaker for that event.
