About this Event
The Letter Carriers’ Food Drive on Sat., May 9 is one of the most impactful single-day food drives in the country, and we’re proud to be part of it each year. With the help of our incredible volunteers, we’re able to collect and distribute thousands of pounds of food to our neighbors facing hunger.
We need your help to make it happen again this year! There are two main ways to get involved:
- Post Office Support:
Help unload food donations from letter carriers’ vehicles and move them to a central collection area for weighing. Perfect for people who love staying active and being part of the action. - Neighborhood Collection Teams:
Travel in pairs to designated neighborhoods, assist letter carriers by collecting food left by mailboxes, and return it to the post office.Great for people who love a little adventure—especially if you enjoy scavenger hunts or spotting hidden treasures—partner up, head into local neighborhoods, and help collect food donations from mailboxes before bringing them back to the post office!
This is a high-energy, fast-paced day where every helping hand makes a huge difference. It’s also a fun opportunity to work alongside fellow volunteers and see the immediate impact of your efforts.
Blue Zones Project Parkland-Spanaway is helping amplify this volunteer opportunity for Parkland/Spanaway residents interested in giving back to their community!
If you or someone you know is interested in participating, RSVP to get more details!
