Check in at the General Store and sign in, all ages of volunteers are welcome. We will have indoor and outdoor projects to choose from including garden, trail work, store projects, organizing, event prep and more! This month we will unpacking outreach events and setting up Winter/Spring programs. We will have volunteer lunch at 12. Volunteer Days happen every month on the first Saturday. Come out and join our volunteers in outdoor or indoor projects in the village. You can choose from helping in the garden, clearing trails, build kits, paint/stain benches, and helping tidy garden beds or work on a digital project on the computer or helping to organize supplies for events!
Lunch is provided (pizza) and drinks. Please come dressed for the weather, check back here for weather updates! All ages welcome, children should be accompanied by parents. We have work gloves and tools for tasks.
Projects year-round:
Picking up trash along the trails and near waterways
Picking up sticks on trails
Pruning thorny vines along the trails, clearing trail paths
Picking up trash around the dumpster
Workday activities:
Breaking down cardboard boxes and putting them in the recycling container
Weeding in the Garden
Building bridges and laying path edges with the Landscape Committee
Helping out at the General Store, putting jams on shelves, cleaning and organizing
Dusting in the museums, exhibits and historic house displays
Some months we may have benches to stain and seal, picnic tables to assemble, kits to put together
Some months we are decorating and changing seasonal displays, volunteers can help put out new table cloths and home items
Suningive: dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, etc. It is quite dusty and we have feather dusters available in the second floor closet at the top of the steps.
Suningive Gardens and Trails: talk with Mark S. about weeding, trail and garden tasks. Many trails need sticks picked up, weeds in the path pruned back and general trash pick up.
The porch of Cottage 12 and the General Store could always use a good sweep and rake around the building. We can wipe down the rocking chairs, mail box, railings, etc. that have dust and pollen on them.

We also love Service Learning Projects and Scout Projects, so feel free to reach out via email with ideas, proposals, or to set up a time for a walk through with the director to get ideas of what we need done here at the Village! Interns needed in education and events!
