Volunteer Community Stewardship Event at Flood Park

About this Event
Join us Saturday, March15 from 9-noon to remove invasive plants and enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at the park as it is being refurbished!
We will be working to remove small stinging nettle sprouts from newly planted areas. This activilty is not be appropriate for younger volunteers and others who don't want to risk being poked! We will be walking, bending, kneeling, and similar.
Heavy Duty gloves, tools, and directions will be provided.
Please wear closed-toed shoes and comfortable clothing you don't mind getting dirty. Recommend long pants and long sleeves. Sunscreen, snacks, hats, and layers are also great to have on hand in case the weather gets warm or cold! If weather conditions are hazardous, this event will be canceled and we will reach out to participants by email.
If signing up for more that 3 people, please reach out to [email protected]. I will accomodate you and prefer to keep the tickets availabe for individuals and smaller groups.
Volunteers under the age of 18 must be registered by a parent or guardian. Youth under 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
A reminder email with more detailed instructions on the day's activities and where to meet will also be sent in advance of the event. We look forward to seeing you in the park!
