Join us for a special dinner fundraiser organized by Voices of Understanding, a nonprofit organization founded by Alex Kalish (Jewish-American), and Kenan Khatib (Palestinian-American). The two friends who attend MIHS founded VOU after witnessing the rising dehumanization of the "other" and the lack of open dialogue around Israel and Palestine.
Voices of Understanding is a nonprofit dedicated to fostering respectful, confidential conversations among high school students with differing perspectives on Israel, Palestine, and the Middle East.
What to Expect:
-Delicious bites (Charcuterie, Beecher's Mac & Cheese, shrimp cocktail & more!)
-Complimentary drinks (alcoholic & non-alcoholic)
-Stories from students whose perspectives shifted through dialogue
-Mingling with other Mercer Island Families
Goal: Raise $10,000 to expand our programs and provide direct aid
