Voices In Black History

CALL FOR TALENT: Voices in Black History 2026 ​Are you an artist, dancer, musician, or orator with a story to tell? We are looking for creators to honor the past and celebrate the present at our Voices in Black History Showcase!​Show us how African American history inspires your craft. Whether you’re emulating a legend or creating something entirely new, your voice belongs here.​ THE CATEGORIES​ART: Open to all mediums! Submit your piece to your local library branch to be displayed at the Juliette Hampton Morgan Library all February.​DANCE: Perform a 5-7 minute piece (original or tribute) that captures the movement of history.​DRAMATIC & ORATORY ARTS: 5-7 minutes of poetry, speeches, monologues, or social commentary.​MUSIC: 5-7 minutes of musical genius (all genres welcome; please bring your own instruments!).​ KEY DATES TO REMEMBER​Registration Deadline: February 14, 2026​Physical Art Submission: Due by February 14, 2026​The Showcase: February 24, 2026​ THE REQUIREMENTS​Every entry must include:​A Bibliography: Cite your historical inspirations or source material.​An Introductory Paragraph: Tell us the "why" behind your work.​Ready to make history?
