This film examines Mississauga’s persistently low municipal voter turnout, which has contributed to widespread disengagement from local democratic decision-making relative to other municipalities in Ontario. It also explores the systems-level changes being implemented to strengthen civic engagement and participation, safeguard democratic health, and ensure that a broader and more diverse range of community voices is represented in municipal governance.
