Katie Carline is a mixed-media artist born and raised in Richmond, VA, with a background in painting and agriculture. Her work is inspired by her experience in the field as a farmer with a true passion for the natural world.
She enjoys creating realistic ornamental flowers that look as if they’ve just been cut from the garden, to using arbitrary color and patterns for a mutated surrealist specimen. She uses wild foraged pigments to highlight the natural features and details of each stem to stamen.
Flowers hold a lot of power and with these creations she is able to share the beauty, peace, and curiosity they bring. No need to water.
