Vivino Tastemaker: Understanding Structure in Wines
About this Event
What does structure really mean in wine — and how do you taste the difference?
Join us for an evening that puts the question to the glass. At this edition of Vivino Tastemakers, we explore one of the most fundamental questions in wine: how do we evaluate the structure of the wine using six different wines from 2 of the most famous wine producing countries – France & Italy.
Structure in wine refers to the framework of elements you experience as you drink — the acidity, tannin, body, finish and how balanced these elements come together. Structure is what gives a wine its backbone and identity — and once you start appreciating it, every glass tells a different story.
Your host for the evening is Josh Lim — Vivino's #2 Reviewer in Singapore, Italian Wine Scholar, Certified Specialist of Wine, and WSET Level 3 certified. Josh brings a sharp palate, deep knowledge, and the ability to make any wine lover — beginner or experienced — feel right at home.
