Vivacious Vessels: Fiber-Wrapped Coil Baskets with Vicki Assegued

Vicki will demonstrate methods to wrap beautiful fabric strips around a core, and then use upcycled yarns and strings to coil it all into a lovely basket- creating any shape that you choose. Source amazing materials from the SCRAP store to inspire the aesthetic of your basket. Decorate the piece with embellishments, handles, or anything that excites your aesthetic sensibilities. No art or basket-making experience is necessary and all levels are most welcome. Everything you'll need will be supplied.

If interested in shopping the SCRAP store before the workshop, please arrive ahead of workshop time as we close the register at 6pm.

About Vicki

Vicki Assegued, MA, is an innovative fiber artist and national instructor whose workshops are beloved by her students– who make incredible pieces of fiber art! Vicki is continually experimenting with and discovering new techniques to bring out a wide variety of dynamic effects and structures for both 2D and 3D fiber art pieces. She greatly enjoys sharing her techniques with her students as she supports them to go beyond where they’ve been with their creative process, in order to make their own unique and stunning fiber art. Vicki teaches around the country through various art schools, museums, retreats and privately, while also exhibiting and selling her art.
