Join the Wood County Women’s Rights Alliance for our second annual Viva La Vulva! Celebrate the power of the vulva! Our annual fundraiser aims to end negative stigmas regarding genitalia through education, inclusive language, joyful celebration, and FUN! All proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit the WCWRA and our initiatives like the Pink Period Pantry!
Vulvas! Half the world has one and it’s estimated about 1/3 of the world or more doesn’t know where or what it even is. In a study done by Teen Vogue in 2016, 60% of women couldn’t even label the vulva in drawings. Only 1/1000 could label all 6 parts of the reproductive system. Why does this matter? If you don’t know, or don’t even feel comfortable using, correct terms for your body parts with your medical professional, errors can happen in your medical care. Furthermore, you may miss symptoms or misinterpret changes that are happening to your own body, which could cause delayed medical care for things like cancer. Negative stigmas regarding genitalia are harmful to everyone. Want to join us in joyful education, sips, snacks, and dancing to help put a dent in it? 💃🏻💕

This space is designed to be a safe space for trans women as well as nonbinary individuals. We plan to have booths for gender affirming care information at this event as well. Where there is healthcare information at this event for cis women, there will be healthcare information for our transgender and nonbinary attendees as well.
