Birmingham Group Coach trip to the Gloucester area

Cost £60 including coach fare, lunch, refreshments and donations
£50 for non-coach users in their own transport joining us in Gloucester
08.45 hrs Coach departs from Church Street, Birmingham City Centre 09.00 hrs Second pick up - layby by M5 Junction 4
18.30 hrs Arrival back in Birmingham (approximately)
We will stop at Strensham Services on the M5, where you will be able to purchase morning refreshments (not included in the visit price) from a range of outlets. We will then travel on and drive through the former Chartist settlement of Stigs End and continue into Gloucester where David Low will lead us on a walk around significant Victorian buildings in the city centre and down to the docks area. We will then have our lunch of a filled jacket potato with side salad in the Comfy Pew Café Bistro which is by the entrance gates to Gloucester Cathedral. We will then go into the Cathedral to see work by Gambier Parry, Henry Wilson and stained glass by Christopher Whall.
We then drive a short distance to Grade I Holy Innocents church at Highnam. Designed in1849 by Henry Woodyer for Thomas Gambier Parry as both a memorial and estate church. Now recognised as one of the finest Victorian churches in the country. We will be given a guided tour, as well as afternoon refreshments.
