Visions of the Soul: Exploring Jungian Dream Interpretation through Dickens

In addition to learning the steps for dream interpretation, we will explore the symbolic meaning of characters like the three spirits, Tiny Tim, and Jacob Marley.

We will also review how the story's imagery and themes relate to the process of individuation and psychological growth and practice applying dream analysis techniques to important elements from the story.

In this workshop you will:

Learn the basics of interpreting your dreams

Explore the themes of Scrooge’s journey of transformation

Learn how elements of A Christmas Carol can be interpreted like a dream

The lunch and learn will be held in Bankson hall, located on the top of the hill from the main sanctuary. A donation of $10 is suggested for lunch.

Abouth the presenter:

Melody Bacon, PhD. Is a professor and licensed clinical psychologist with over 25 years of experience. She is the author of two books, The Grace-Filled Divorce (2012) and The Addicted Family (2019).
