Vision Boards for Personal Growth and Recovery

This workshop will guide participants through the creation of personal vision boards as a tool for self-discovery, emotional healing, and recovery. Vision boards are visual representations of goals, values, and dreams that can help individuals struggling with emotional or mental health challenges, or in recovery from addiction, to reconnect with their aspirations. Participants will use images, words, and symbols to create a board that reflects their personal journey and goals, fostering motivation and hope. Sharing and discussing these visions in a supportive, non-judgmental environment can create an opportunity for healing and connecting that peer supporters can offer in a variety of settings.

Learning Objectives:

• Understand the Power of Visualization: Explore how vision boards can support personal growth, motivation, and the recovery process by providing a tangible reminder of your goals and values.
• Reflect on Personal Goals: Identify key areas of emotional, mental, or physical well-being that you want to focus on, and translate those goals into visual representations.
• Foster Self-Compassion: Use the creative process to engage in self-care and self-expression, fostering a positive mindset and emotional resilience.
• Develop Connection and Support: Share your vision board with others in the group, practice active listening, and provide mutual support, building a community of care and empathy.

This workshop emphasizes person-centered care, allowing each individual to create a unique vision board that reflects their personal needs, values, and recovery journey.

The first session covers making a vision board and the second session gives you the opportunity to share your work.
