Juan Cantone & Virginia Cutillo in Lucerne, June 2026
At the end of June we will be back in Lucerne. This time with something deeper: How do you inhabit your tango?
An opportunity to challenge ourselves and reflect on our own tango — how we feel it, share it, and live it.
Thank you for welcoming us again. It will be a joy to share our ideas with all of you.
See you soon.

INHABITING TANGO
Throughout all the classes, we will focus on how we inhabit the tango. What will we work on?
- How to move as a couple, with another person in a state of presence
- Changes in muscle tone: when to relax, when to activate, and how this transforms body communication
- How to recognize rhythmic patterns in the music and interpret them
- Inhabiting pauses, transitions, and silences with awareness
- What I communicate and what I receive: refining listening and intention in order to create an authentic experience together
- A space to explore the embrace, listening, and presence within the dance
How do you inhabit your tango?
PROGRAM
Friday, June 19, 18:45 – 19:45
Pre-Milonga class (Drop-In): Exploring colgadas and volcadas for the social dance floor
Is off-axis movement possible in social dancing? Of course it is! We’re going to work on that.
- Find the axis and share the off-balance
- Less force, more connection
- Smooth entrances and exits
- Elasticity in colgadas, control in volcadas
Friday, June 19, 20:00 – 00:30
Milonga San Telmo with show Virgina & Juan
Saturday, June 27
Workshop 1, 16:00 – 17:30
What is the best posture to inhabit tango?
Inhabiting tango through the pause, the transition of the step, and the arrival to the axis. The connection with ourselves, with the partner and the dance floor.
We will explore different qualities of steps, textures, and body tones in order to discover a dance that is more conscious, sensitive, and present
Workshop 2, 17:30 – 19:00
How can you inhabit your tango while being aware of the fluidity
of the structure?

Combining turns, ganchos, and sacadas while understanding the organic nature of movement.
- Listen to your partner’s movement
- Clarity in our direction
- Less force, more connection
- Fluidity and comfort for both bodies
Apéro & Dinner, from 19:00
Detail below.
Sunday, June 28
Workshop 3, 16:00 – 17:30
Can we inhabit tango while being aware of the music?

Of course we can! We can recognize marcatos, rhythmic cells, musical
bridges, and then apply them to our body and dance.
- Walk on the marcato rhythm
- Clap rhythmic patterns like 3-3-2 and havaneras
- Recognize changes in the orchestra’s energy
- Pause and breathe through the musical bridges
Workshop 4, 17:30 – 19:00
Can we inhabit a real conversation with our partner?
Of course! We will work with concrete tools that help us to develop an active and receptive dance, learning how to interpret, communicate, and co-create within the partnership. How can we become active and resourceful interpreters and receptive proposers.
- Active axis and available body tone
- Change the tone according to the intention
- Propose and resolve through connection, not force
Monday, June 29
