The Inaugural Virginia Beach Mayoral Chili Planking is a political event in Virginia which takes place this October in Pembroke Manor. It is sponsored by a the Pembroke Manor Civic League, a service organization which was founded in 1965 in the small town of Princess Anne County about 9 miles to the west of the Atlantic Ocean.
The 2024 Mayoral Chili Planking event
consists of a multitude of Chili cooked a variety of ways. The event is held near Town Center and hopefully will long be a function of the populace.
We are hoping the Chili Planking will be bipartisan environment where would-be candidates, reporters, campaign workers, and locals gather to eat chili, drink beer, and kick off the state's electoral season with lighthearted speeches by politicians in attendance.
Sponsored by the Pembroke Manor Civic League, the Mayoral Chili Planking serves as one of the organizations primary fundraising event for the year. All of the funds raised from the event are invested within the Pembroke Manor Community and support community organizations such as our PMCL Gene Moore Memorial Scholarship which offers $1000 to a qualified graduating senior who resides in Pembroke Manor.
