Virginia 52 Hike Challenge – Little Stony Man Loop via Appalachian Trail

Join 52 Hike Challenge Virginia on a gorgeous 3.5 mile loop of Little Stony Man via Appalachian Trail! Shoutout to our amazing sponsors Oboz!

When: Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 9:00 AM. We will meet at the trailhead parking area, look for us near the trailhead with a 52 Hike Challenge Flag!

Skill Level: Moderate. Approximately 3.5 miles with 810 feet of elevation gain. It takes approximately 2.5 hours to complete, but we will plan to spend time at the summit and take the hike slow, so please allow 3 – 3.5 hours.

Be sure to wear adequate clothing and sunscreen and bring at least 3L of water, along with snacks and electrolytes. As always, please pack your 10 essentials for safety reasons!

Parking & Address: Stony Man Trailhead Parking. The parking lot is off Skyline Drive, just before the mile 40 mark. You can also access it from the Skyland Resort if you are staying there. Dogs are allowed on the Appalachian Trail portion only.
