Vintage Weekend

Join us on the 19th/20th September at the Eastleigh Lakeside Miniature Railway as we throw things back to decades gone by! Whether you’re favourite bygone era is the 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, or even later, we just might have you covered! With our vintage steam locomotives, many of which date back to the 1930s, a healthy helping of miniature road steam, as well as a small selection of vintage cars, there will be something for all transport lovers!
Period Dress is highly encouraged! On Saturday 19th, our theme will be 1930s/1940s, with popular music from the era to get you “In the Mood” at Parkway Station. Fast forward to Sunday (and a few decades), we swing into the 50s and 60s. We hope you’re ready to rock and roll…
Gates open at 9:15am both days! Saturday’s 9:30am departure will be a new special train to Lakeside, the ‘Reverse Rounder’, a non-stop lap the wrong way around the railway, starting and ending at Parkway Station. Sunday’s 9:30am departure will be a good old ELMR Parallel Run! We recommend Rover Tickets for this event to make the most of travel throughout the day on as many trains as you like.

A full Locomotive and Road Steam Lineup will be confirmed nearer the time, but is expected to feature a variety of our Bullock Pacific Locomotives, and ex Kerr’s Miniature Railway duo 3007 ‘Firefly’ and 25179 ‘Loch Lee’.
On the Road, we expect a range of 3”, 4” and 6” Traction Engines, as well as a handful of Classic Cars. These will be viewable in our usual overflow Car Park.
On Sunday 20th, our neighbours at the Concorde Club Eastleigh, will be hosting the Concorde Classic Car Show. Take the 5 minute stroll along the connecting footpath and why not enjoy both events in one day!
PLEASE NOTE: Our usual overflow Car Park will NOT be open during Vintage Weekend. Overflow car parking will be available in the Amphitheatre, please follow signs and/or if given, instructions by a member of staff.
