Recall the simple pleasure of exchanging valentines in elementary school? The process of selecting a card, writing a thoughtful message, and adding a decorative touch was a way to connect with others.
As we age, this tradition often falls by the wayside. When was the last time you sat down to write a heartfelt letter or create a handmade card for someone special? While valentines are still exchanged, the gesture has become less ‘personal’.
To revive this LOST ART, the Charles City Arts Center is offering a Vintage Valentine Workshop on February 2nd from 1-3pm. Participants will learn a little history of valentines and have the chance to craft their own unique, handmade cards.
