On Thursday 11 June, we are hosting a special day to raise awareness of the good works of the St Vincent de Paul Society and their annual Winter Appeal!Students are invited to:
- Wear PJs to school (please do not wear slippers or ugg boots as these are not safe for playing outside in)
- Bring a gold coin to school to buy a special treat at recess (Our Year 6 Pope Francis award students will be selling some delicious treats with all money raised going to our local Meadowbank Vinnies Conference)
- Bring in an item to donate to our West Ryde Vinnies Food Bank. The Food Bank is located within the Vinnies West Ryde shop and is available to those in our community struggling with basic needs.
The suggested items for each grade to donate are set out below:
Kindy- Breakfast cereals (e.g porridge sachets, cheerios, corn flakes)
Year 1- Small bottles of instant coffee and packets of tea
Year 2- Spreads (e.g small bottles of vegemite, peanut butter, jam and nutella)
Year 3- Long life oat/ soy milk, cans of chick peas/ cannellini beans
Year 4- Small tins of tuna/ cans of soup/ cup of soup
Year 5- Cheese that doesn't require refrigeration (e.g laughing cow brand, Bega Cheddar blocks, cheese spread)
Year 6- Items to sell at our Bake sale (e.g muffins, cupcakes, brownies, slices, lolly bags, donuts)
