Welcome to the Vincennes Animal Shelter's Pet Costume Party where the Vincennes Animal Shelter is partnering with GSH Auxiliary again to raise funds for patient care initiatives at Good Samaritan Hospital and pet services at Vincennes Animal Shelter.
Come join us at Gregg Park - Open Shelter for a fun-filled day of pet costumes, treats, and activities. Dress up your furry friends in their spookiest or silliest outfits and compete for prizes in our costume contest. Whether your pet is a ghostly ghoul or a superhero pup, all costumes are welcome!
4 the Memories Photobooth will be back to capture all the adorable moments. This event is a great opportunity to meet other pet lovers in the community and enjoy a day outdoors with your four-legged companions. We can't wait to see all the creative costumes and wagging tails at the party!
Trunk or Treat (new in 2026!!) Several local businesses will be participating in Trunk or Treat at the event from 10-12pm.

Free-will entry to event and purchase tickets to vote for the best costume in each division (dog and cat). Pet Costume participants (cats/dogs) are $25 per each animal participating. The winners receive a gift basket from the GSH Gift Shop! T-shirts also for sale at the GSH Gift Shop, or day of event!
Animal costume display from 11- 11:30am. Voting ends at 12pm and winners announced at approximately 1pm. All animals must be leashed or contained at all times. Full event time is 10am-1pm.
By registering for this event, I promise and agree on behalf of myself, my heirs, and assigns not to sue and agree to release, discharge, hold harmless and indemnify Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes Animal Shelter, the Vincennes Parks and Recreation Department, the City of Vincennes, and each of their respective employees, volunteers, agents, independent contractors, and all other persons or entities acting on their behalf (collectively the “Released Parties”) from all claims, demands, rights, and causes of action of any kind, including but not limited to any alleged negligent acts or failure to act, whether arising from my own acts or those of the Released Parties. I hereby waive all claims for personal injury or property damage arising from my attendance at the event or in any way relating to the use of the facilities during the event for which I am registering, regardless of whether such injuries arise as a result of the actions or inactions myself, the Released Parties, or any third party. By enrolling the animal for the event, I represent that I am the legal owner of the animal and I hereby assume all risks, dangers, and responsibilities for injuries to the animal, myself, or any third-parties caused, in any way, by my animal. Further, I hereby agree to indemnify and hold the Released Parties harmless from any injuries or damages (whether to persons or personal property) caused by my animal or that result, in any way, from my attendance at the event. I represent and warrant to the Released Parties that the animal I am bringing to the event is in good health, has been properly registered with the appropriate regulating authorities, and has received all necessary vaccinations and/or other medical treatment. I further represent and warrant that my animal has not harmed, shown aggression, or exhibited any threatening behavior to any person or other animal. I understand and agree that the Released Parties may, at any time and in their sole and absolute discretion, direct that I and/or my animal be removed from the event if it is determined that my animal does not meet the health and temperament requirements set forth herein or if I fail to follow the instructions of the staff.
