Village Wars – Student Ministry Discipleship Challenge
As part of our Student Ministry Discipleship Pathway, we’re introducing a year-long challenge called Village Wars.
Our goal: help students grow in their faith while having a blast competing together!
Throughout the year, small groups and connection groups will earn points for their village in the following ways:
Ways to Earn Points
Attendance-
Students earn points just for showing up to Connection Groups or MDWK.
Attendance points will be calculated as a percentage of your group’s highest attendance for the quarter.
Example: If your group’s highest Sunday attendance is 15, and 10 show up the next week, you earn 66 points (10 ÷ 15 × 100).
5-Day Devotionals-
Devotionals are handed out on Sundays.
The following Sunday, students can turn in their completed devotional with all questions answered to earn points.
Turn-In Process: Leaders, please place them in the bin behind the Welcome Desk after Connection Groups.
Important: Students must write their name and grade on the devotional.
Invite a Friend-
Every time a student invites a friend who is not already in our system, their village gets points.
Sunday Notes-
Students who fully fill out the Sunday morning bulletin notes can turn them in on Wednesdays in the bin next to the check-in station.
Physical Bible-
Students earn points for bringing their own physical Bible.
Using a classroom Bible or a Student Worship Center Bible does not count.
Game Winners (Wednesdays)-
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in Wednesday night games earn points for their village.
Village Spirit – First Wednesday of the Month-
On Village Nights, students are encouraged to come decked out in their village colors.
It must be obvious they dressed intentionally—tiny accents (like a small sleeve stripe) don’t count.
Point Calculations-
Attendance & Physical Bibles: Based on the percentage of the group’s highest attendance for the quarter.
All other categories: Points are per student.
