Huzzah, warriors!
Think you have what it takes to stand among the fiercest of shield bearers? Bring your handcrafted shield to the Viking Shield Contest this June and compete for glory, prizes, and honor!
From traditional Norse designs to wildly creative masterpieces, all shields are welcome!
❤️ GIVE BACK WITH EVERY SHIELD
For every shield entered, the festival will donate $1.00 to NOTO Arts Youth Programs.
🎟️ BONUS FOR ALL ENTRIES
Each entry will receive 1 FREE Day Pass to the Topeka Renaissance Festival!
⚔️ CONTEST RULES
Free entry for individuals
$50 entry fee for businesses
Shields must be 3 ft (36 inches) or smaller
All materials are allowed
Contest takes place during the festival: June 12th–14th, 2026
📍 DROP-OFF INFORMATION
Dates: June 11th–12th
Time: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Location: South side of the Woodshed Event Center (Check-In Area)

Ages 16 & Older
Youth Division (Ages 5–15)
🏆 HOW WINNERS ARE CHOSEN
All shields will be displayed during the festival and then featured on the festival’s Facebook page.

Voting OFFICIALLY ends: June 20th, 2026
