How can a federal agency enforce the law when they break it with impunity? Which of us will be the next victim of ICE's lawless actions? It is time to make our voices heard. We will not tolerate the cruel, inhumane, lawless, and dangerous actions of a rogue federal agency that terrorizes our communities rather than keeping them safe.
On Tuesday, we will hold a Candlelight Vigil in Lynchburg at Monument Terrace condemning the killing of Renee Nicole Good at the hands of ICE agents. We will hold space for mourning and come together to comfort each other. We will also tell the community, and our elected officials, that ICE is a danger to the public. Congress, state, and local officials must all utilize every option available to them to ensure that ICE is denied the cooperation of local and state authorities, ICE is denied funding wherever possible, ICE is denied access to personal data, ICE must unmask and show identification when on duty, ICE is held accountable for violations of the law, ICE agents are prosecuted for breaking the law, and the ICE agent who killed Renee Nicole Good is arrested and charged with his crime.

*A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.*
Please consider joining Nonviolent Lynchburg beginning at 5 o’clock for a silent vigil for peace at Monument Terrace. The Indivisible LYH event will begin shortly after the silent vigil concludes.
There is also a Lynchburg City Council meeting at 7 PM across the street at City Hall. LYH citizens are encouraged to attend.
