She has been featured on NPR's Weekend Edition and The Late Show, released albums on Rounder/Universal Records, spoken at multiple TEDx events, and was the first artist to win four Independent Music Awards in one year. More importantly, she has garnered a loyal intergenerational following, with young adults, adults, and elders each a significant portion of her 400,000+ annual listeners and 900+ Patreon subscribers. Her lyrics have been analyzed by high school classes, her songs performed by a cappella ensembles, her recordings played at tech conferences as well as weddings.
In the 2010s, Vienna took a professional detour to work on climate solutions, first in McKinsey & Company’s Sustainability practice and then at Delterra, an environmental NGO. She returned to creative life in 2022, building a network of fans who advance climate solutions and democracy in their own communities, and hosting workshops that participants have described as “rocket fuel” and “the perfect antidote to despair.” She also began releasing new music to serve as conversation starters on deepening civic engagement, such as her innovative project "We've Got You (Two Truths)": two contrasting songs that form a richer whole when played simultaneously.
