Victoria Yeager: Chuck Yeager Had the Right Stuff
About this Event
Join us to hear about the extraordinary life and legacy of American aviation hero Chuck Yeager, presented by his widow Victoria Yeager. She traces Chuck’s journey from a curious, hardworking boy who grew up in the hills of West Virginia to a fearless pilot who changed the course of aviation history. She illustrates Yeager’s service in World War II as a fighter pilot, his daring escape after being shot down over France, his rise as a decorated ace, and his breaking the sound barrier on October 14, 1947, flying faster than MACH 1, the speed of sound, in a Bell X-1.
Victoria Yeager will also share an excerpt from The Quest for Mach One, a documentary focusing on the historic first supersonic flight, which was rereleased recently by the Flight Test Museum at Edwards Air Force Base.
