ABOUT THE RECITAL
Singapore pianist Victor Khor returns with a colourful programme of Chopin, Bill Evans, and Balakirev’s Islamey. Known for his expressive artistry and bold programming, he will perform on the PETROF Monsoon P237, prized for its rich European sound, lyrical warmth, and refined craftsmanship. This 70-minute recital without intermission promises a moving encounter between pianist and instrument – a celebration of music, creativity, and timeless sound.

Background & Education
Victor Khor began studying piano and violin at age 8, later becoming the first Singaporean pianist to receive a scholarship to the Moscow Conservatoire, where he studied under pianistic luminaries Tatiana Nikolayeva and Yevgeny Malinin. He continued advanced studies at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, guided by Ryszard Bakst and George Hadjinikos.
Artistic Identity
Thibaudet described him as “a sophisticated pianist with inner musicianship,” while Stephen Hough praised him as “a fine, sensitive and exciting pianist with imaginative flair”
Known as "intrepid" and a “maverick” by Singapore’s Straits Times, Khor embraces daring, inventive programming that surprises and engages

Teaching & Mentorship
A prolific pedagogue, Khor coaches students from beginners to advanced repertoire—Rachmaninoff’s 3rd Piano Concerto, Liszt’s and Chopin’s Études, and more.
His notable students include Abigail Sin, Darrell Ang, and Zhang Chi, reflecting his international coaching reach.
