A Bak Imre Space új kiállítása, AUREWAVE, a tér, a fény és az anyag érzéki tapasztalatának határán helyezkedik el. Mátrai Erik és Vetlényi Alma közös installációja a percepció lelassítására és a figyelem átstrukturálására épít. A mű a jelenlét, a mozgás és a csend dialektikáját vizsgálja azaz azt, hogy hogyan válik a tér nemcsak befogadott, hanem megélt tapasztalattá.
Mátrai Erik fény- és térkísérletei a festészet meditatív alapjait transzformálják installatív formává: munkáiban a fény nem metafora, hanem anyag, amely a transzcendencia hétköznapi leképezéseként működik. Vetlényi Alma ezzel párbeszédben a textilt mint érzékeny, reaktív felületet használja, ahol az anyag és a mozgás ritmusa közös nyelvet alkot. Kettejük együttműködése nem illusztratív, hanem strukturális, az alkotói folyamat szerves része, amelyben a szerzőség megosztott, a dialógus pedig magát a formát generálja.
Az installáció középpontjában egy ellipszis alakban leomló textil áll, amelyet folyamatos, alig érzékelhető mozgásban tart egy szerkezet. A fémes konstrukció és a puha anyag kettőssége egyszerre idézi a mechanikus és az organikus világot. A fény az ellipszis felületén nem egyszerűen megvilágít, hanem rajzol, modelál és eltorzít: a vetülés és a visszaverődés folyamatosan átrendezi a formát, így az ellipszis nem statikus kompozíció, hanem optikai esemény, amely a néző mozgásával együtt változik. A fény, a csend és az anyag egymásra vetülése olyan átmeneti teret hoz létre, amelyben a mozdulat és a megállás, a test és a tér, a forma és a feloldódás határai elmosódnak.
Az AUREWAVE nem csupán installáció, hanem fenomenológiai térkísérlet: egy kontemplatív környezet, ahol az érzékelés – mint anyagi és szellemi tapasztalat – újraformálja a teret. A művészet itt nem reprezentáció, hanem jelenlét; nem látvány, hanem állapot. A lágyság, a fény és a csönd közös szerkezete a megértés helyett a figyelemre, a megnevezés helyett az átélésre hív.

The new exhibition at Imre Bak Space, AUREWAVE, is situated at the threshold of spatial, luminous, and material experience. The joint installation by Erik Mátrai and Alma Vetlényi is built around the slowing of perception and the restructuring of attention. The work explores the dialectic of presence, movement, and silence—that is, how space becomes not merely received but lived.
Erik Mátrai’s experiments with light and space transform the meditative foundations of painting into an installative form: in his work, light is not a metaphor but a material that functions as an everyday manifestation of transcendence. In dialogue with this, Alma Vetlényi employs textile as a sensitive, reactive surface where the rhythm of material and movement forms a shared language. Their collaboration is not illustrative but structural—an organic part of the creative process in which authorship is shared and dialogue itself generates form.
At the center of the installation stands a textile draped in an elliptical shape, kept in constant, barely perceptible motion by a mechanism. The duality of metallic structure and soft fabric evokes both the mechanical and the organic worlds. On the surface of the ellipse, light does not merely illuminate but draws, models, and distorts: projection and reflection continuously rearrange the form, so the ellipse becomes not a static composition but an optical event that changes with the viewer’s movement. The interplay of light, silence, and matter creates a transient space in which the boundaries between motion and stillness, body and space, form and dissolution blur.
AUREWAVE is not merely an installation but a phenomenological experiment in space: a contemplative environment where perception—both material and spiritual—reshapes the spatial experience. Here, art is not representation but presence; not spectacle, but state. The shared structure of softness, light, and silence invites not understanding but attention—not naming, but experience.
